So you have decided that excluding Gluten from your diet makes you feel better. But your doctor still wants to test you for Coeliac disease, and you can’t bear the thought of eating gluten for six weeks (which you must do in order to take the test). So you want to skip the test?
I know there are a lot of people who do, and I hear it all the time. But did you know that by skipping the test you could be missing out on the NHS tests that will be routine for the rest of your life, you won’t get to see a dietitian who will help you achieve a balanced diet, or you may never have a bone density scan until it’s too late and you have Osteopenia, or even worse, Osteoporosis?
It’s six weeks vs the rest of your life. You don’t know how much damage has already been done, my bones had started to weaken when I was tested and scanned so my calcium intake could be increased now that I’m monitored.
